OUR MISSIONARIES

Bethlehem Church members Dale and Allysa Harvey are currently serving a on missionary assignment to Kazhakstan, Central Asia. Dale and Allysa were approved in December 2006 for a one-year term of service.

They will work alongside the Central Asia
Baptist Union to coordinate children’s ministry activities and train national believers to minister to children. They recently completed raising their support and made plans to leave for the field March 17, 2008.

CONVERSION

Allysa spent her early years in a pastor’s home. Her brother led her to the Lord at the age of five. She was always interested in missions, and in 1995 during Truth and Peace Student Leadership Conference, she surrendered her life to the call of missions.

Dale and his family were invited to the First FWB Church in Tampa, Florida, by their neighbors. They began attending regularly and Dale accepted the Lord soon after. He continued to be very involved in church activities and surrendered his life to God’s will.

EARLY MINISTRY

Dale and Allysa served as children’s ministry coordinators at Bethlehem FWB Church in Ashland City, Tennessee, for two and a half years. The couple also assisted in the youth ministry for several years. Allysa is a school teacher and has ministered to inner city children for six years and worked many summers as a camp counselor. Dale works for the YMCA of Middle Tennessee serving as a site director for daycare. He has worked closely with children and has helped to develop curriculum for the organization.

Allysa has been very involved in missions. She was a part of Go and Be (a short-term missions trip to Côte d’Ivoire) 1997, served as a summer missionary (Campinas, Brazil) in 1998 and taught English in China for a year (1999-2000). Dale participated in a Home Missions endeavor in 2001, helping Tim and Jessica Lewis in Ogden, Utah. He worked alongside teens and parents from Bethlehem FWB.

Both Dale and Allysa were changed by these experiences and believe God was preparing them to work together. In June 2004, just two weeks before their wedding, Dale and Allysa accompanied the youth group to Conroe, Texas, where they assisted home missionaries Jarvis and Kelly Reed in running a vacation Bible school. This trip solidified in their hearts and minds God’s desire for them to serve together to reach the world for Him.
